Get Online Week 2016
We approached Bexley Village Community Library some months earlier to offer our assistance for the digital skills event and they were only too happy to accept. The library already has 2 volunteer computer buddies but we wanted to make week of it, so we took to Streetlife to ask for more people to volunteer. Within a few days we had another 4 people plus Learning Digital's founder Martin booked in for a session.
Next we had to get the library reinstated on the UK Online Centres website in order to benefit from their resources.
To spread the word we made full use of the marketing pack supplied by Tinder Foundation. This generous offering came with posters, leaflets, banners and notebooks, as well as learning materials that the learners could take away themselves.
The week saw us helping out around 15 people who needed digital help and support and we managed to get some of these registered on the Learn My Way website. All in all a good week for the library. We managed to raise their profile in the village and online and bring more people though the door.
