In January we decided to go back to basics with some keyboard and mouse exercises. But this week we thought about doing something different and useful. We showed the class how to transfer photographs from a digital camera to a computer.
What is a fairly simple process for some is difficult to understand for others. You need some knowledge of how to copy and paste files for this task. What made it harder for us to teach this was the range of operating systems in use by our learners. We had Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 10 to contend with so the evening did not go to plan. What should have been half an hour took over an hour, but we did gain more of an understanding of the people who come to our sessions.
We finally managed to transfer an image from a camera to a laptop, but we will need to get to grips with how a mouse works in our next session. It’s all about the left click, right click skills that most of us take for granted.
